Customized medication & therapy options

Our Detox Treatment Services

At Sequoia, we focus on each patient's short-term medical needs as well as their long-term sobriety goals, using a combination of medication, individual and group therapies.

Personalized Medication Protocols

Our treatment program heavily relies on our carefully crafted medication protocols. Specific to each patient’s individual needs, our nurses and pharmacists work together to create a regime that will reduce and relieve the symptoms of withdrawal in the most comfortable way possible.

Sequoia Detox Centers will not use opioid antagonists (Suboxone, Subutex, Vivitrol/Naltrexone, etc.) as a primary means of withdrawal management. For patients looking to stop taking these medications, we can assist with tapering if the current daily dose is less than 40mg, or we will coordinate tapering with their existing providers, or connect them with a provider who can assist them. We cannot assist with Methadone tapers or withdrawal management.

Individual Therapies

With clinical staff available sixteen hours each day, patients have the option for scheduled and unscheduled visits with a Substance Use Professional who can work individually with them. Our skilled team works with patients on short-term and long-term goals, helps them understand the root causes of their addiction, and offers support throughout the treatment process.

Patients can expect to meet with clinical staff daily during their stay. Although Sequoia Detox Centers does not consider itself to be a co-occuring detox program, we incorporate evidence-based clinical methodologies into every part of our patients’ experience.

Group Therapies

Spending time with other patients who have gone through similar experiences can be a powerful insight and form of support. Group therapy is often more impactful than individual therapy in helping people acquire new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Practicing new behaviors both within the group and in everyday interactions outside of group help reinforce growth for participants.

Although Sequoia Detox Centers does not require patients to attend group therapy sessions, we strongly encourage attendance, as it improves treatment outcomes and allows patients to get the most out of their stay with us. Because our program is only 5-7 days, we focus our group material on patient education and discharge planning. We ensure that each patient leaves our facility confident and prepared for what’s next in their recovery journey.
